On Friday, December 15, 2023, Professor Elisabetta Starnini and Dr. Jacopo Gennai have been invited to deliver seminars at the Anthropology and Prehistoric section of the Department of Humanities at the University of Ferrara. These seminars will provide updates on two research projects directed by Professor Nikos Efstratiou from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with a focus on Middle Palaeolithic, late Upper Palaeolithic, and early Mesolithic contexts.
Professor Starnini will present the latest findings from the EGEOLAND and Grevena Archaeological Project, exploring the late Upper Pleistocene and early Holocene transition in the island of Limnos (Eastern Aegean Sea) and the Pindos mountain range (Western Macedonia). Concurrently, Dr. Gennai will share preliminary observations from the technological analysis recently conducted on the Samarina 1 Mousterian assemblage in the Pindos mountain range, Western Macedonia.
These seminars will be delivered in Italian and can be attended either in person or online via the following link: https://eu.bbcollab.com/guest/28d6d93e5f7340acae6982dfc4088098.
