The project CHRONOS at the University of Toulouse

As part of the dissemination activities of the PRIN22 research project CHRONOS – The Obsidian Route in the Central Mediterranean: Diachronic Pathways and Cultural Connections, funded by the MUR under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme, on Wednesday, 26 March 2025, Prof. Elisabetta Starnini, PI of the project, was invited to give a presentation at the seminar L’obsidienne en Méditerranée occidentale pendant la Préhistoire récente at the Jean-Jaurès University in Toulouse (France).

The presentation focused on the project’s initial results, which aim to develop an updated model of obsidian circulation during the Early Neolithic in Italy and to refine the distribution areas of the different sources in the western Tyrrhenian region (Lipari Island, Palmarola Island, and Monte Arci in Sardinia).

Special thanks to the organisers, Thomas Perrin and François-Xavier Le Bourdonnec.
