
We are happy to host a lecture from Francesca Manclossi the decline of flaked stone tools, entitled: “Le industrie litiche dell’Età dei Metalli: il “declino” degli strumenti in pietra scheggiata“. The conference will took place on Wednesday 19, at 10.00h at Pisa (Aula Savi).
Francesca Manclossi is a prehistoric archaeologist specializing in lithic technology. Her research focuses on the use of stone tools during the Metal Ages, from the Chalcolithic to the Early Iron Age, and the relationship between the decline of lithic industries and the development of metallurgy. She has studied technological changes that took place in the Eastern Mediterranean, between the Levant and Egypt, during one of the key transitions in the history of human societies.
