The first excavation campaign at the Hayy Al-Sarh Neolithic site, nestled in the Al-Hajar foothills of Rustaq, Oman, has come to a close. With its strategic location in the Al-Hajar mountains, the site represents nowadays one of the few excavated settlements in the inland territories of Oman.
The excavation works have unveiled dwelling structures that include occupation floors and postholes, offering compelling evidence of a once-vibrant campsite in the Al-Hajar foothills. This discovery significantly advances our understanding of the region’s prehistoric past.
