Microscopy session on soil micromorphology with UK specialist Rowena Banerjea

Dr Rowena Banerjea, world-leading expert on soil micromorphology, has led a theoretical and practical seminar on the topic within the course “Palaeoecology and Bioarchaeology”. The session allowed students to familiarise with this methodology and learn how to prepare and interpret a thin section of archaeological sediment. Dr Banerjea is a highly renowned and internationally known geoarchaeologist, and her contributions range from experimental archaeology, to Roman archaeology, Medieval archaeology and near eastern later prehistory.
